Since we use no chemicals to treat our wooden lames, they must be maintained by occasionally soaking them in oil. We recommend using our fractionated coconut oil. The lames come pre-treated in our oil and seepage onto the paper wrap and envelope will occur!
1 Wooden Lame 46 x 6.35mm. 1 Astra Platinum coated double edge razor blade included; wrapped in paper. Please be careful when handling.
(Does not include a pouch)
We guarantee a 1 year warranty on this UFO lame. We also accept returns up to 14 days after products have been received.
NO TO WAR! 10% of the profit from every UFO Peace lame goes to UNICEF, which helps save and protect child victims of war and violence through evidence-based response in more than 140 countries.
Beneath the cause, the UFO Peace is a full Wire Monkey UFO: the original circular bread lame, designed and made by us in Connecticut from solid American black walnut and stainless steel. - No more lost blades
- The original circular lame, designed and made in the USA

I cannot express how much I love my Wire Monkey lame. It is truly a piece of craftsmanship. I have gifted many lames over the years, along with the beautiful pouches they offer, and they also carry the best replacement blades and maintenance oil to help care for your lame and keep it working beautifully.
What I love most about the Wire Monkey shop, though, is their mission. Tyler personally makes these lames, and they are shipped directly from their shop in Connecticut. They support several important giving campaigns, and during COVID they found ways to give back to the baking community and support fellow bakers.
This is a company I am proud to stand behind—a beautiful product made by people who truly care. I am so happy to have their craftsmanship in my home and to share it as a gift with others.
Hi Lori, thank you so much for your heartfelt review! We're thrilled to hear how much you love your Wire Monkey lame and appreciate our mission. It means the world to us that you share our passion for quality and community. Happy baking and gifting!
