Everything you need to start scoring beautiful loaves and keep your lame in top shape for years. Built around the Goose, Wirecutter's top pick for best bread lame, paired with our Wood Lame Care Kit so your black walnut stays smooth and your slashes stay clean.

What's in the kit:

Goose Bread Lame — our curved handled lame in solid American black walnut, with no protruding knobs to catch your dough and a comfortable handle to slash up or down. Ships with a magnetic blade guard and a 5-pack of blades.

Wood Lame Care Kit — a bottle of our fractionated coconut oil and a brass wire brush, to lift away flour and dough buildup and keep the wood from drying out.

Made in our family-owned shop in Fairfield, Connecticut, from solid black walnut and stainless steel hardware. No plastics, no harsh chemicals.

As the New York Times Wirecutter put it: "Elegantly carved from black walnut, this lame provides fine control over slashes and can produce surprisingly delicate detail work."
