Wire Monkey UFO Corbeau Bread Lame (Recycled)

I have every lame Tyler has made. My personal favorite is the Corbeau. I have bought 6 to gift for friends I love it that much. I bought my first one 4 years ago and almost immediately bought a backup. I am still using my first one and I use it every week. These fit perfectly in the hand and apparently last forever. Changing the blade is easy and my fingers appreciate how safely I can score intricate designs. Thank you, Tyler!

This lame is gorgeous! I've scored a half dozen loaves with it now and I have no idea how I made it so long without one! You don't need to oil the Corbeau, but I gave it a light rub with some Boos Block Board Cream and it makes the finish look so rich. The Astra blades have a slight tacky residue where the paper adheres to them. You'll have an easier go of extending/retracting the blade if you remove it (a little rubbing alcohol helps). I can't recommend these lames highly enough. If you are a bread baker and you don't have one, what are you waiting for!?

This worked great on scoring my sourdough - very easy to control, and i love the ability to extend the blade or retract the blade for the different scoring techniques. Highly recommend!!!

Love this lame. Just be sure to get the holster as the blades have a sticky residue that causes it to get stuck inside the lame when retracted for storage.

I'm the kind of person that gives a lot of 4-star reviews but rarely gives 5. Someone else wrote that this bread lame was a revelation for them; I have to agree. I've struggled with scalpels, paring knives, steak knives, bare blades, and curved lames before forking over the nearly $40 for the Corbeau. Had I known how much easier scoring would be with the WireMonkey lame, how little drag and how clean a cut I could get, I would have skipped the rest. What a great product.

It’s been such a pleasure to score bread with this gorgeous lame!

Looks very nice. A trifle small and fiddly, especially for a device designed to hold razor blades, but works pretty well to hold blades for scoring dough. Does require a good amount of razor blade handling each time you use it.

This worked so much better than I had hoped. I was using an expensive lame bought on Amazon that dragged dough and never gave a perfect score. This UFO by WireMonkey worked WAY beyond my expectations, and instantly. From the first part of the cut it glided like butter. For something so simple, the quality is exceptional and works exactly as promised. I'd say even better. First time I've left a review. Incredible purchase.

Really cool, light, small lame. I love the simple design. I haven't used it to score bread yet, but I've used the razors it comes with before, so i'm pretty confident it'll be great.
