Everything you need for detailed, artful scoring, plus the spares and protection to keep going. Built around the UFO Bread Journey, America's Test Kitchen's "Best for Intricate Scoring," carried in an upcycled leather pouch with a 5-pack of spare blades.
What's in the kit:
- UFO Bread Journey Lame — the original circular UFO lame in solid black walnut, engraved with Anna Gabur's intricate design. Ambidextrous, with a retractable blade that stores safely inside. Made for the fine, decorative scoring that turns a loaf into artwork.
- Upcycled Leather Pouch — in your choice of color, to protect and carry your lame.
- Astra 5-Pack — five platinum-coated double-edge blades, so you've always got a fresh edge on hand (the UFO ships with just one).
Made in our family-owned shop in Fairfield, Connecticut, from solid black walnut and stainless steel hardware. No plastics, no harsh chemicals.
As America's Test Kitchen put it: "It's a little tricky to attach and remove blades on this lame, but it provides unparalleled control for the most detailed designs."
